Karen Berk and Equine Reproduction Services
handle hundreds of stallions worldwide. It has always been ERS
policy not to own a stallion, thereby not developing a conflict
with clients. But sometimes, the fates have different plans
for us.
January
2003, a 4 year old Kid Clu son, Kid Conclusion, was shipped
to the ERS Stallion Station in Ocala, Florida. Karen had seen
him win Top 10 honors at the Quarter Horse Congress, and win
the Florida Futurities as a weanling and yearling, and then
again at Gevings Quarter Horses in North Dakota. Herb Gevings
decided to stand him where there would be better exposure, in
Florida, where his show career had stemmed. Karen, Bryan and
Kid bonded immediately. Unfortunately, Herb's health declined
and recently was forced to give up his horse interests. Karen
promised to give him a home for life and Kid now shares the
spotlight with such luminaries as World Champions Sculptured
and ZipRageous, and Im Certifiable. "It was a big decision and
commitment to purchase Kid. We have always put every bit of
energy into our clients stallions, but were encouraged by everyone
to keep Kid" says Berk.
